People who don't listen to them often say that. But if you listen, you will realise their music, far from being depressing, is jubliant - spangly guitars, tambourines and lots of humour. I'd more likely want to slash my wrists after listening to an album by George Michael.
Maybe I'm Amazed, Back Seat of My Car and Waterfalls were solo - two of them before Wings even existed. In my view, when Paul blurs his solo work into Wings's work, he cheapens the band's legacy - as if they don't matter and it's all about him. Wingspan would have been better as a true Wings compilation.
