Juliet Simms - Biography

Juliet Simms is an American singer and songwriter. From 2005 until 2011, Simms was the former front woman of the band Automatic Loveletter. With Automatic Loveletter, she released 2 albums and 2 EPs. The band had one or two other albums that were unable to be released due to multiple record label issues.
During Warped Tour 2011, Simms was approached by someone who worked with NBC's singing competition show The Voice and was asked if she was willing to audition for the show. At this point, Automatic Loveletter felt like it wasn't going anywhere and Simms was losing her fire to continue going with music, nearly thinking about quitting. She didn't want to participate in the show because she wanted to actually work for her fame like her musical influences. After being talked into it, Simms auditioned for the show, covering The Beatles' song "Oh! Darling" in 2012. At the end of the show, Simms came in second place. She was then signed to her coach's, CeeLo Green, record label. Simms released her first single as a solo artist called "Wild Child" in December 2012. Simms then recorded an album that was set to release in 2013, but it never did happen because the label she was with tried to force her to make pop music and be the next Kesha when all she wanted to do was make rock music, which is what she was making when she was with her band. Simms didn't want everything about her to be forced out of the window by her label so she ended up battling with the label over her music and voice before finally leaving the label.
In 2014, Simms began her label-less journey and crowd funded her 'All or Nothing' EP that released in January 2015 through Pledge Music. Then in December 2015, Simms released her cover of Leonard Cohen's song "Hallelujah" just in time for the Christmas season.
Simms then released another EP in July 2016 called 'From the Grave,' which she paid for out of her own pocket this time. After talking about wanting to release some of the songs from 'From the Grave' stripped down to piano, Simms released her piano rendition of her song "My Last Whiskey Tears" on the 2 year anniversary of her 'All or Nothing' EP in January 2017.
Simms and her husband Andy Biersack (aka Andy Black), lead singer of American rock band Black Veil Brides, released a duet together of Adele's song "When We Were Young" on 'Pop Goes Punk vol. 7" in the summer of 2017.
Simms released her single "Take Me" in April 2018. After filming her role in a TV show called "Paradise City," Simms was signed to Sumerian Records and released "Bad Love" in June 2019. Simms has a record set to release sometime in 2019.
