Stavely Makepeace - BiographyRob Woodward and Nigel Fletcher had played in bands in the early 1960s, and they had written songs together. At the end of the decade, they eventually join forces and formed Stavely Makepeace. The initial line up was Rob (lead singer and keyboards), Nigel (drums), Don Ker (guitar) and Pete Fisher (bass). In 1970 they were joined by Steve Tayton, a jazz guitarist and woodwind player. Soon afterwards Pete Fisher left, and was replaced by bass guitarist/vocalist, Steve Johnson. Another change came when Owen John (violin) replaced Steve Tayton. Further changes happened throughout the 1970s. Around 1972, they had an idea to produce a few songs using just two pianos, bass and drums, and so by adding Rob’s mother Hilda, Lieutenant Pigeon came to be. Both groups continued to record at the same time. « Back to Discography Edit This Biography : Biography Credits
