CD Single
Notes Rock 'n' Roll touring production That'll Be The Day got together with broadcaster and songwriter Mike Read to record Dark Horse. Mike Read wrote the 'Travelling Wilby-esque' song shortly after George Harrison's death, and theatre producers Trevor Payne and Colin Rozee heard the song and agreed to record it. Mike said: "I wanted to express what George meant to us growing up in the 60s. Suddenly anyone could pick up a guitar and become a success." Colin said: "When we heard the song we thought it was superb and catchy, but also a respectful song, and we agreed to record it and donate any proceeds from royalties to the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation". "We thought this charity would be the perfect recipient of any money raised, given George's tragic fight against lung cancer."
