Released as a tribute to the late George Harrison (who had died on 29 November 2001, aged 58, in Los Angeles, California, USA) and due to overwhelming public demand.

It subsequently reached No. 1 in the UK Singles Chart, repeating the success of the original release of My Sweet Lord in January 1971 that also reached No. 1.

Made in EU for UK release.

The gno logo was used specifically for the release of the 2001 remaster of the album All Things Must Pass, on the CD single and on the promo 45 released in the US. George having a bit of fun: gno = gn + the universal "Om" symbol and then add "e" and you get gnome, several of which are featured on the front cover of the album.
