Freedom is a completely brand new Paul McCartney track, so new in fact that it was only recorded Tuesday 23rd October. When Paul landed in New York to organise and headline the Madison Square Gardens charity show, he felt moved to write a song. The reaction to Freedom at the concert and from reviewers, commentators and the general public after the show was unanimous: Freedom must be released as charity single asap. Parlophone/EMI worldwide has broken deadlines to turn this track around for release on Monday November 5th as a double A-side single with original charity track From A Lover To A Friend. All proceeds from this single (and the original From A Lover To A Friend single, released October 29th) go to the Trust set-up for the families of the New York firemen and rescue workers who lost their lives on September 11th.
