Music composed and arranged by Stephen Emmer. Vocals by Julian Lennon. Lyrics by Neil Crossley. Produced and mixed by Tony Visconti at Avator Studios (NYC) and Abbey Road Studios (London).

Sleep for England is the third single to be taken from this year’s prominent [Stephen Emmer] LP International Blue (also produced by Visconti). The much-lauded album, cited as being a revered love letter to the art of pop-crooning, featuring vocals from the likes of Midge Ure and Glenn Gregory, gained huge support from the likes of Radio 2, Daily Mail, MOJO, Q Magazine, Daily Express, The Telegraph, Radio Times and Sunday Express upon release in July this year.

This new single follows in the tradition of now-classic alternative Christmas tracks such as Fairytale of New York, Stop The Cavalry, Happy Xmas / War Is Over in it’s use of beautiful and festive musicality mixed with insightful social commentary.

All proceeds from the single are donated to the White Feather Foundation, an international charity founded by Julian Lennon, which embraces environmental and humanitarian issues for the conservation of life. The meaning behind the chosen name for the White Feather Foundation relates to a conversation John Lennon once had with his son, stating that should he pass away, if there was some way of letting me know he was going to be ok – that we were all going to be ok – the message would come to me in the form of a White Feather.
