| | Saw was quite good, but it was some kind of bench mark for me in Horror, in that they seemed to lose charm, and personality, and just became an ordeal to watch... the supposed "Torture Porn" phenomena. Not for me.
Hostel was the one where I just stopped watching horror films. Pure Shit. I felt bad for myself, the people making it, and whoever at the studio let them make it, and didn't look at the finished product before release and say:
"You know Mr Director, this is supposed to be the entertainment industry... Horror or otherwise?"
further to which should have been added: "You need help!" |

| | No... I can't stomach films of this type... like Dr Doom, I'm a bit too squeamish and fail to derive any entertainment from watching people get murdered in gory ways... but, I enjoy reading crime and murder non fiction books, so... |

| | I enjoyed the first Saw movie, I thought it was pretty good - but I watched one of the sequels some time after that (as it was on telly) and thought it was rubbish, frankly. But yeah, not really my thing either, I watched Hostel when that came out and didn't think much to it. |

Dr Doom SUBS 20th May 2015
| | I've avoided all of these 'Torture P***' style horrors (Saw etc.) . I'm really squeamish with this kind of thing. I can just about cope with the odd nasty scene in a horror but if a film is based around slow torture scenes then it's a 'No Thanks' from me. |

| | I saw this years ago and really wish I hadn't. It's a horrible, horrible film with no redeeming features whatsoever - anyone who says otherwise either hasn't seen it or is being wilfully contrary. I wanted to rate it zero but couldn't.
Deeply unpleasant cinema (if you can call it that) and definitely not recommended.
There are several sequels as well (some of which I gather actually have a plot) though I've avoided them and will continue to do so. |
