YankeeDisc SUBS 19th Aug 2018		I saw this film once on UK television (BBC 1, maybe), I'm guessing at 1980, as at that time I was renting an early top-loading JVC/THORN video recorder, and taped the film, but because of the then sky high prices of blank video tape, I quickly erased it to record other items. An enjoyable film, in full colour, telling the story of the wealthy Danfield family. I particularly enjoyed the secondary story of the film, featuring black actors Hattie McDaniel as Aunt Carrie, Ben Carter as Shadrach, and Ernest Whitman as Dogface . I highly doubt that such a film would be shown on UK TV today, due to it's portrayal of black characters as servants and wastrels.
