The picture took a month to film was completed July of 1914. The film had a tough time getting distributed from the Oz Film Company. Finally Paramount arranged to release the movie and it premiered at the Strand Theatre in New York, New York.
When the film was reissued in 1919 by as “The Ragged Girl of Oz”. Mildred Harris named was change in the credits to “Mrs. Charlie Chaplin” after they had married a year earlier.
