Os-Ke-Non-Ton trained as an opera singer in New York City where he befriended Enrico Caruso. He performed in the 1926 production of Charles Wakefield Cadman’s opera "Shanewis." From c. 1924 to 1939, he played the Medicine Man in Samuel Coleridge-Taylor’s play "Hiawatha" at Royal Albert Hall in London, England..
