Arvo Pärt - BiographyWriting at first 12-tone music for which he was censured by the Soviet authorities, he continued to work as a radio producer and film composer until he converted to a romantic style using conventional harmonies. He was then unable to find work in the then Soviet state so he emigrated to Austria and then Berlin until he was able to return to Tallin following Estonian independence.
