Tomaso Albinoni - BiographyTomaso Giovanni Albinoni, 1671 – 1751. One of Albinoni's best-known works seems to have been a fraud perpetrated on the musical world by his 20th Century cataloguer Remo Giazotto, who claimed to have transcribed an unknown work of Albinoni's, "Adagio in G minor". He published this in 1958 and it was quickly assimilated into the Classical repertoire and became a popular favourite following its use in films and as a television theme tune. In 1965 Giazotto claimed full credit for the work in the hope of claiming the royalties from its performance. « Back to Discography Edit This Biography : Biography Credits
