Peter Van de Velde has selected works by Joseph Callaerts (1830 - 1901) for historical reasons, because Callaerts had been the first titular organist of this famous instrument.
"The rousing Toccata in E Minor is probably Caellerts' best-known work and is dedicated to Oscar Depuydt, organist at Mechelen Cathedral"

Gill Sans SUBS ● 18th Jun 2024 | | Classical ItemJane Watts - Great Australasian Organs VI; The Organ Of Wellington Cathedral (2005) | The one particular track I bought this collection for is Sumsion's spirited 'Prelude' on Unto Us Is Born A Son, which in practice would serve as the Postlude to a Service, finishing with a triumphal fugue.

Gill Sans SUBS ● 13th Jun 2024 | | Classical ItemJane Watts - Great European Organs No. 7: Westminster Abbey (2010) | For his 'Variations on a Noel' Dupré has chosen to set variations on the theme of the pretty hymn tune Noel Nouvelet (Now The Green Blade Riseth). The 'Introduction' is almost note-for-note taken from the hymn, played very quietly; thereafter the arrangements vary between tranquil and violent, and all points in between.

Jane Watts' YT channel has mistakenly listed all the 'Noel' tracks as being from Dupré's 1931 suite 'Le Chemin de la croix'

Gill Sans SUBS ● 6th Jun 2024 | | Classical ItemMangala Vadyam - Nadaswaram (2002) | I wonder if the title should be "Nadaswaram, Mangala Vadyam" or vice-versa, the Nadaswaram being an instrument from the mangala vadyam family of reed instruments. The main artist looks like [various artists] with different artists shown for each track. It would be easier to work out the full details if we knew what the initials T.D.R., A.R., T.S., and M.S. meant.
