Gill Sans SUBS 21st Mar 2024		Classical Item Kronos Quartet - Bob Ostertag: All The Rage (1993)	“All the Rage was developed from a recording I made of a riot in San Francisco in October, 1991, which followed California Governor Pete Wilson’s veto of a bill designed to protect gays and lesbians from discrimination. 4 “First I sifted through the recording and isolated those sections that to my ear suggested music. Some of these involved screaming, whistles, or windows being smashed. Two were based on slogans chanted by the crowd (‘We’re Not Going Back’ and ‘Queers Fight Back’). Two more were based on individual voices (one shouting ‘Go for it,’ and several people yelling ‘Burn it’ as the California state office building caught fire). The Gramophone Music Guide says "There's a boldness about Terfel's art that could be perilous, but which, as exercised here, is marvellously well guided by musicianship, intelligence and the genuine flash of inspiration. Gill Sans SUBS 9th Mar 2024		Classical Item Cappella Mediterranea, Leonardo García Alarcón - Sacrati: La Finta Pazza (2022)	La finta pazza ("The Feigned Madwoman") 1641, is said to be the first opera ever performed in France (in 1645). Some of the music bears striking similarities to the score of Monteverdi's L'incoronazione di Poppea, prompting scholars to speculate that Sacrati had a part in composing the surviving version of that opera.
