Concertgebouw Orchestra, Bernard Haitink - Shostakovich: Symphony No.8 In C Minor, Op.65 (1984)
Unsure what the Russian on the front cover is saying, and so, due to the current situation, apologies if anyone finds it offensive.
No bias either way intended here, just recording a part of musical history;)

Mangala Vadyam - Nadaswaram (2002)
@Gill Sans
Hi, yes, i wanted to make sure so i have just asked an older Indian gentleman local to me.
I have added it correctly as it turns out (more by luck than judgement;)
He said that "Mangala Vadyam" is the headline artist here, this is the name given to the orchestra or collective as a whole.
There are quite a few videos on You Tube of "Mangala Vadyam", each album featuring one main lead instrument, here it is the "Nadaswaram", but the album name could equally be "Mangala Vadyam""Flute", it all depends on which instrument takes the lead, or "vocal" equivalent.
He confirmed also that all the names on the back would be part of the orchestra, and each of their names are listed underneath a picture of the particular instrument they play on each track, for example, Adi would play Tablas on track 4 "Amba Vani".
I forgot to ask what the letters after or before some of the artists names signified, perhaps musical training or awards indicators?
Hope that clears (most of) it up, anyhow, cheers
Greg

@Gill Sans
No problem:)
No, there are no actual soloists listed, just the 30 members of the choir en mass, there are two Organists however, Jonathan Vaughan and John Robinson, which i have added as Soloist's, (if, indeed that is the correct field).
That's very useful to know, i shall add more in the future.
cheers!

All composers now added.
"I think you must have requested someone to "Please edit this record's Performer list" but that is too non-specific."
?No, i did not make any such request, i just wanted to check the actual physical limit to the amount of performers you can add to any one field, as there were quite a few composers on this one. I wanted to know a number for future reference when adding multiple performers,i.e. "20 composers maximum", surely, there must be a upper limit to the amount?, or, do you have an unlimited space for each performer?
cheers

Unusual as it is a gatefold sleeve incorporating a 4-way fold-out, and the shaped red inner slide-out sleeve has instructions for placing it on the turntable without touching the record itself. (I was going to attempt to scan the inside but it's tricky, i'll let someone else have the honours on that one;)
This is way-out there:)

Staatskapelle Berlin, Otmar Suitner - Beethoven: Symphony No.9 In D Minor "Choral" (1982)
Also MM
I tried your link but it appears to be a (mistaken?) ebay page (could have been a lot worse mistaken links;), and i wondered if you still remember the original link as it could be interesting.
(Also my CD is black/silver)
Also after looking at the three on Discogs ...
The First release appears to be December 1982 as it is on the rear tray artwork, this release does not have the 4 page European languages insert and has "Patent Pending" in releif on the jewel case.
The second release,1984, has the additional 4 page European languages insert, and the "Patent Pending" in releif on the jewel case also.
The third release, 1985 has a (rectified) 10 page booklet.
A comment on Discogs ...
"There is an article about this CD in the Dec. 17, 1983 issue of Billboard. This is not only the first 71-minute CD, it was also one of the first Denon CDs to be shipped in a blister pack."

Staatskapelle Berlin, Otmar Suitner - Beethoven: Symphony No.9 In D Minor "Choral" (1982)
Hi MM
I've just gold hold of one of these too, it caught my eye in Oxfam (Music) because of the early date on the back (1982).
I've added another set of scans as my one is black, and i wondered if, when you added your scans, your scanner might have been "on the way out"?, and therefore, giving false colours (the blue)?, so i've added some more for your moderation.
I can confirm that my copy also has a 12 prong dark grey tray as well, so, that seems to be right for this issue (i think maybe Japan used these trays at the time whereas we used 8 prong trays over here).
I agree, the added notes in 3 European languages seems to be a late afterthought for export as page 1 is on the back and it's not stapled in.
I agree also that the sound quality is great, and i'm beginning to realise that most of these early CD'S have a much better sound quality, even better than (most) of the modern remasters which are often guilty of cutting the top and lower frequencies off to better cater for modern tastes/earbuds etc., and by doing so, lose the overall dynamics of the recording. (early AAD CD's are still worth seeking out)
Also i've added a scan of a sticker on mine "This CD is recommended by Denon Hi-Fi News"

I've added this as a separate entry from the existing entry already on the system as, the booklet front (image 2048200) added by tiggerhans2 has no SACD logo in top left corner, and so that image could be from the worldwide Digital FLAC file release here ? (the Digital and physical releases share exactly the same Cat No./barcode)(Included with the sound files are a JPG of the album cover), if it is, and perhaps tiggerhans2 could confirm, then that release could be changed to "Other Digital", and the country to "International" so that we would then have the two releases of this album, the Digital and the SACD physical.
