Pressed by RCA in the US (Record club?)
Conductor is as spelled on the front cover. Rear cover and disc shown as "Jewgenij Mrowinskij"
Tchaikovsky is spelled "Peter Tschaikowsky" on sleeve and disc
As I mentioned, the label specifically states RCA. The back cover doesn't have anything about distribution, what it does have at the bottom is all German, which is what leads me to believe it was an RCA record club issue
Does the back cover indicate that it was distributed by a US record company, i.e. Decca (until 1962), MGM (1962-1969), or Polydor (1969 onwards)? That might be extra confirmation that this is a US release, which I think would be right for this US pressing. My experience with DG here in Australia, particularly in the late 70's and early 80's, was that the full-price new releases tended to be German pressings, with the Australian pressings being mid-price or budget issues. With CDs, virtually every DG disc released in Australia until the early 90's was an overseas pressing (usually Germany, sometimes Korea), ditto for sister labels Decca and Philips, and Australian pressings became more common later once factories were established here, but PolyGram's successor Universal still does import some product from all genres for local release. It's hard to make a hard-and-fast rule about entering countries, but perhaps the best policy might be: if you are unsure of the release market, just enter the country of manufacture, and then if another user has more expert knowledge, they can comment or make a correction.
This album is a prime example of the problems with "International releases"
This is a US pressing from RCA of an original Deutsche Grammophon pressing.
The front cover is all in English.
The back cover is typical Deutsche Grammophon tri-lingual
The label is in German, even though it is a US pressing.
Tchaikovsky is shown as "Peter Tschaikowsky" everywhere except the front cover and the English liner notes on the back cover.
Conductor is listed on front cover as "Eugen Mravinsky" (and can be found in other references spelled this way)
On the back cover main listing, German and English liner notes, and disc it's spelled "Jewgenij Mrawinskij" (Now is this the German spelling, or a roman alphabet version of the Russian spelling?)
On the French liner notes on the back cover, it's spelled as shown on the front cover
