Gill Sans SUBS ● 14th Jan 2020		Beni Mora, In The Street Of The Ouled Nails. The performance here has so wide a dynamic range that it needs a CD to do it justice. The movement starts with the strings playing at their quietest, gradually increasing until a solo flute comes in with the simple theme which is maintained throughout the work. Notwithstanding this repetition there is nothing minimalist about the the orchestral accompaniment which grows, swirling and dancing around the theme. Having reached a climax the music dies away until just the timpani plays out in one of Holst's typical Al Niente endings
