Record made in England.
Track B3 features the female voices of the Los Angeles Master Chorale (Dr. Roger Wagner, Music Director)
Indeed I will (sod's law I won't find a single one now!)...
I even see the tell-tale: "ZAL" matrix prefix over the catalogue number on the label now.
Along with "XAL", and "ARL", which announce a record's Decca-ness. I found this very helpful when I found those pink label test pressings, which are usually scant on info about what's on the disc - artist / title etc.
It would seem then that eventually these U.S Londons, and the Decca SXLs should be linked to counterparts.
(When the ability to add a linked release returns to Classical world - ahem - :)
I think you should, MM - there's a site around somewhere (I forget it's name) that has compared the UK Decca and US London pressings, and IIRC they were all made from the same plates at Decca's Southampton factory.
Seeing this made me think: "Do I have a Holst: Planets in my collection?"
...and it seems I don't yet :(
However having poked my nose about a bit, I realise now these U.S London issues with CS cat# are the U.S pressings of U.K Decca SXLs.
(This particular one being the U.S equivalent: Decca SXL 6529 - which seems to fetch a few bob considering it's a later boxed Decca release)
And the reason I ask is that I have seen a couple of these U.S London pressings about, but haven't realised the connection to the Deccas, but if the vinyl and pressings are comparable, I will grab them when I see them.
