 This record is an eclectic selection from the styles of the composers in Berlin in the 1920s and 30s. As the notes say, Berlin was at the forefront of the arts during this period.

The selection starts with Schönberg, whose difficult angular music is familiar today


However an older harmonic tradition is represented by this lovely Mass setting by Ernst Pepping
