 Wakefield likens the precocious talents of the short-lived Pinto to those of Mozart, but the musical style seems to presage the piano music of Schubert.
Pinto lived only to 20 and the Sonata In C Minor was unfinished during his lifetime: Wakefield has composed his own conclusion, in preference to that of Pinto's contemporary, opera promoter and music critic William Ayrton.
