LaurenceD SUBS ● 2nd Dec 2022		From the notes: "This recording follows in outline an organ concert that Felix Mendelssohn played in August 1840, at St. Thomas' Church in Leipzig, where Johann Sebastian Bach had been Music Director until 1750 ... Mendelssohn's program at St. Thomas' Church and that warm summer day of 1840 live for us still in the luminous writings of Robert Schumann, who was present for the occasion in the role of journalist ..." (Due to time considerations for the LP, the Passacaglia and Fugue in C minor from Mendelssohn's program is not included in this release, but is available on the previous "Bach Organ Favorites" album)
