Lee Wrecker 28th Mar 2016		I'm with cptbeefheart on this one, along with The Producers, Blazing Saddles and Silent Movie it's one Mel Brooks' best efforts. You do have to know Hitchcock's work though to get full value from this film.



Quad5point1 9th Jul 2015		I would be biased in my opinion of this movie as it was the first Mel Brooks film I ever saw and even though Young Frankenstein is good I think this is one of the cleverest and funniest movies ever. Madeline Khan in this film is superb as was Cloris Leachman and Harvey Korman. The remastered 5.1 soundtrack is also worth having.



Neil Forbes 9th Jul 2015		It had its moments though. I had a VHS of this which had(has) a linear stereo audio track(also have an old top-loading stereo VHS deck that plays and records linear stereo but has no inbuilt tuner - recording is by way of line-in A/V connections, RCA for the audio and BNC for video). The real disappointment for me was Mel Brooks didn't utilise the stereo effect that much in his movies. Just segments here and there, like his performance of the movie's theme song for instance.
