 I watched this the other day, and it did sound a little different... I think they re-edited it to cut a verse, and repeat.

 The George Harrison song used during the closing credits of this movie is a version found nowhere else (save for bootleg LP's).

 Aha!!!

... I'm beginning to spot a pattern here!

As with Sleuth, updated edition of this available (almost identical to this in the case of Time Bandits), Gold Tinted underside, Sought after edition.

... apparently region-free.

In the case of this, I thought it was the Limited Edition Time Map that made people prefer it, but now, maybe it's worth hunting out early Anchor Bay Movies if this is the case (Would need someone with a non region 2 DVD player, who has a copy of this (or other such Anchor Bay titles) to confirm the suspicion.
