Join C. Vision Productions for a journey across the Golden State to view awesome railroad action in the 1980’s along with bonus steam coverage in the early 1990’s.

From the movie film camera of Dan Engstrom, this video features many of the Railroads operating in California at the time including:
Amtrak;
Southern Pacific;
Santa Fe;
Northwestern Pacific;
Central California Traction Company and the;
Eureka Southern.

See SP mainline and local freights, Santa Fe freights with both blue and "Kodachrome" SP merger motive power, Western Pacific F Units and Geep’s on the Union Pacific, caboose operations, the overnight "Spirit of California" train and Southern Pacific commute action with both heavyweight and bi-level equipment.

See the last day of PCC car operations on San Francisco's L,N,K, and J Lines.

Also included are train operations on now dormant trackage of the SP’s Brentwood Line and the abandoned Santa Fe’s Pasadena trackage.

This video also includes footage of the Southern Pacific numbers 2472 and 4449, along with Union Pacific’s 844 and Challenger 3985 on steam excursions to the Sacramento Railfair, R&LHS Convention, and the 1984 Worlds Fair.
