HelBic 26th Sep 2018		VHS Stephen King's The Stand - Republic Pictures (1994)	Review I own the UK DVD of this movie. This has to be one of the most faithful adaptations of a Stephen King book. I loved it. [SPOILER] It opens to a scene where all the staff at a biological warfare facility are wiped out when a virus gets out. This caused a stir because it the first time on TV that it showed dead people with their eyes still open. Tame by today's standards but the thing that got me was the choice of music. I still can't hear 'Don't Fear The Reaper' by Blue Öyster Cult without thinking of this opening scene. The acting is tremendous by all, with some stand out performances by Matt Frewer, Rob Lowe, Ray Walston (always my Favourite Martian), Gary Sinise, Laura San Giacomo and Shawnee Smith. The only person I didn't get with regard to casting was Corin Nemec as Harold Lauder, to me he just didn't seem the right fit. He still put in a good performance though. HelBic 23rd May 2017		DVD Braveheart - 20th Century Fox (2000)	Review Everyone probably already knows that this is a really really inaccurate telling of the story of William Wallace but... if viewed as a period action movie, it's brilliant. There's supposedly a red car driving along the side of the valley in the opening battle but no matter how many times I watched it, I've never seen it. Always worth a watch, even if Mel's Scots accent is wobbly most of the time. They may take our lives, but they'll never take our freedom! 7 people found this review helpful. ✔︎ Helpful Review?
HelBic 23rd May 2017		DVD Passengers - Sony Pictures Home Entertainment (2017)	Review I loved the look of the movie just like Gregs78s but.... that's as far as it went. Very little story, I didn't feel any chemistry between the two stars and as for the end.... My recommendation would be to give it a miss.
