Neil Forbes 22nd May 2015		DVD The Beatles - Compleat Beatles	Remarkable! The slick for this DVD is very similar to the original VHS format tape, which had a linear stereo audio track. I wonder. Was the image re-designed to fit 16:9 screens or did they leave it in its original 4:3 aspect ratio, as it was originally made as a TV documentary. That is how I first bought this, on VHS with linear stereo audio. Just a few years back I acquired a new copy, this time with the hi-fi stereo audio, the sound quality only marginally better. Some years back I picked up a VHS recorder that played and recorded in linear stereo. I bought it for the princely sum of $5 at a recycling centre. It still worked to I was able then, for the first time to hear the stereo audio and the linear system gave a good account of itself. The doco, by the way, dates from 1982, even if the DVD is newer.
