Nertsery Rhymes released 06 July 1933 (Technicolor) Beer and Pretzels released 26 August 1933 (B&W) Hello Pop! released 15 September 1933 (Technicolor) Plane Nuts released 14 October 1933 (B&W) Roast Beef and Movies* released 10 February 1934 (Technicolor) The Big Idea released 12 May 1934 (B&W) *Roast Beef and Movies featured Jerry "Curly" Howard paired with George Givot.

Unquestionably one of my favorite Old Dark House mysteries. Slinky Karen Morley as the gold digger Jenny Wren, who demands a comfortable settlement from her former elite, old fart sugar daddy's, and mysteriously ends up dead. Who killed Jenny Wren?

Richard Vollin 23rd Jun 2017		DVD House Of Horrors - Universal / TCM (2010)	Memorable lines: "And I call it tripe! Pure, unadulterated tripe, with an overtone of sheer lunacy." - F. Holmes Harmon (Alan Napier), despised art critic, having just humiliated sculptor Marcel De Lange (Martin Kosleck) in the presence of a prospective buyer, spoiling De Lange's pending sale, and sealing Harmon's deserved fate. Exchange between Kosleck, and Rondo Hatton (The Creeper): De Lange: "I see by the evening paper that a woman was murdered in the neighborhood last night." The Creeper: "Yea." De Lange: "Yes, her spine was snapped. I've often wondered why a man would want to snap a woman's spine." The Creeper: "She screamed." De Lange: "An annoying habit on the part of women; screaming."

Alternate bilingual menus, subtitles, English language overdub (on some titles), commentary, biographies, scripts, photo galleries; are a hallmark of this line. Handsome packaging and presentation, including reversible front covers, and a loteria card insert. The downside: CasaNegra is no longer in business. Synapse acquired their back stock of DVDs in late 2009. Because the titles are out of print, their availability is growing smaller, and prices are steadily rising. If you're considering adding one or more of their films to your collection - act now.

Peggy Cummins' explosive entrance, their get-away following the bank robbery - it's like a 3D film: Desperate, Dangerous, and Doomed.
Richard Vollin 20th Jun 2017		DVD The Death Kiss [1932] - Kino Classics (2014)	This is a very decent, clever film. Filmed at Tiffany Studios just before they were bought out by Columbia Pictures. Formerly located at 4516 Sunset Boulevard, it's now (you guessed it) a shopping center and parking lot.

Richard Vollin 19th Jun 2017		DVD Destination Moon - Image Entertainment (2000)	Just one notch below "Rocketship X-M", because it's tries too hard. "Rocketship X-M", though dated, has some timely aspects, and remains somewhat plausible, and relevant.
