War Of The Worlds is a real-time strategy with a difference. The gamer can play against either the plentiful humans or the advanced Martians. The battleground is set in the UK, where entire counties are the areas to be captured.

Gamers can either overlook the game so that entire armies are units on the board and can be simply moved around, or they can get their hands dirty and go into counties to set things up manually. There is no multi-play support, and the graphics aren't amazing, but the chance to be the "artillery man" is worth a go. There is a wide range of ground, sea and air units to choose from, and there is a lot of strategy needed with the 3-D terrain.
