| chitownkid 26th Apr 2017 |  | Live MusicNew Order @ Poplar Creek Music Theater (1987) | This date is incorrect. The concert was originally scheduled on a Friday night, but it was rescheduled to the following Sunday night--the same night as the Chicago Bears first preseason game of 1987 (16 Aug 1987). I was there. It still rained, and a ton of people in the lawn area were sliding down the mud covered hill by the end of the show. To me, the best part of the whole night was the thunder and lightning show that erupted just as Echo & The Bunnymen started singing Killing Moon. EDIT: I forgot another memorable moment--the power going out in the middle of their set when lightning hit a power pole in the parking lot! |
