I’m guessing this was the Brian Wilson Charity tribute gig where Brian Wilson, who attended, was blown away by hearing the Wondermints for the first time- in particular playing his song This Whole World. Over the next few years they recorded with him and became the core of his touring band.

An early Wild Honey Foundation benefit gig, following on from a Byrds tribute concert by the Foundation earlier in the year. Benefit for the Sweet Relief Musicians Fund.
Review from Variety

Edit: This was only the second ticketed Wild Honey event. Still running events now, some 21 years later.
