I was at this concert, and the following weeks Humble Pie gig, and I have to say it was pretty damned awesome. David Essex had a great personality and charisma that allowed him to win over the harshest crowd with his mediocre voice. He had no problems at this gig as it was packed with adoring females of various age groups. I was oblivious to the 'first gig' status (until now) but he played all the hits at the time (Hold Me Close was a year later) and closed with a rousing Good Ol' Rock & Roll, if I recall correctly. I don't remember Stardust being played but it was a favourite of mine?
