chrisb ● 28th Sep 2023		See gig advert I just added. This gig was at The Garden, Penzance and not, as entered, the Winter Gardens, and Elvis Costello was definitely not the headliner for the gig. This was Costello and the band’s first gig. (NB and they were only billed as Elvis Costello at these early gigs.) The band were in the area for a week rehearsing and recording and I guess they were added later to the Wayne County booking. In the audience was holidaymaker Captain Sensible. The following night Costello played Woods Leisure Centre, Plymouth and during the week they were in Cornwall they also played Davidstow Village Hall.
