The concert was the occasion of the première of Reich's 2x5, which was performed by the Bang On A Can All-Stars.

During the Tour De France section of the Kraftwerk set, four members of the Olympic gold medal UK cycling team rode around the track.Part of the 2009 Manchester International Festival.
