rocket666 17th Aug 2021		The Who topped the bill this date; with five top 40 singles and three top 50 albums in the USA already, plus 'Tommy' out for just a week or two was battering the top ten there. Whereas the less than a year old Zeppelin; admittedly had their first album trump The Who's earlier three by hitting No.10 after release back in February and it stayed on chart for two years, (UK issue later in Apr!!) and they were gigging week after week all year; but their one and only stateside top single was still a month away (followed by only 4 more top 40 singles). Did 'Whole Lotta Love' do so well 'cos 'Led Z ll' not released for another 6 months? (Plus the touring and the bootlegs).
