 Further info from Ian Rusten, via the Smiley Smile Message Board confirms that the programmes for The Beach Boys residency at Fiesta Clubs in Stockton and Sheffield show The Flame as support act. However, for some reason it appears that they weren't, and 9 gigs between 28/11 and 6/12 were lined up in London for The Flame instead.

 I had always believed that The Flame supported the whole of The Beach Boys UK Tour Nov/Dec 1970. The comprehensive Ian Rusten/Jon Stebbins book 'The Beach Boys In Concert' also supports this.....until.... I came across, from Melody Maker late Nov 1970, the advert I have just uploaded. This seems to suggest that the Fiesta Clubs' residencies may not all have included The Flame as support, and so some 9 consecutive night's London gigs were arranged for them instead. I have just put the question out there on The Beach Boys Smiley Smile Message Board hoping for some expert opinion on this matter- but it's possible that some of The Flame entries for these dates will need amending. I'm waiting to see if more info emerges on what actually took place.
