 This gig is recognised as a turning point for the band who were at a rock bottom commercial low point at this time. The concert was promoted by a couple of fans. The band (who charged a flat $9,000 dollars including expenses) produced a memorable performance which turned the tide and set them on the way to become one of the best touring live acts around in the early 1970's (of course also reinforced by the more contemporary sounds on the Surf's Up/Carl And The Passions/Holland albums during this period).

The Beach Boys were supplemented by Ed Carter (bass), Daryl Dragon (piano), and Dennis Dragon (percussion), plus a five-piece horn section.
