 As for this gig in question, I had absolutely no idea until now that Ian Paice and Don Airey had worked together almost 20 years before Airey ended up replacing Jon Lord in Deep Purple. Neil Murray's a great bassist too so Gary certainly had a great band here!

Doesn't it make your blood boil? The same fate befell a lovely theatre in Lincoln I went to once where I saw The Kinks. I'm discovering through researching for this site the fate of many a venue and it's so depressing how many great venues - big and small - have ended up either being flattened or now replaced by a corporate supermarket, usually the one beginning with a T. Then seeing the older venues that do still exist, how their names have changed over the years and now have ultra anonymous names like "02" and more corporate nonsense. So bloody sad!
