When Janis Joplin died she left money in her will for a funeral party. This was it, and around 200 invited guests attended an ‘all-nighter’. The bar bill was around $1,600. The local press reported ‘The Grateful Dead and other groups entertained.’

chrisb 20th Jun 2022		This was the invitation only event held forJanis Joplin after her death. She left $2,500 in her will “so my friends can have a ball after I’ve gone” and that paid for this wake/gig.
