This all day competition was open to entries to the Pop section of the Arts Festival. Heats were held before 4 adjudicators in the late morning and afternoon, with Finals in the evening, which also included the guest artists The Pretty Things playing.
Winning artists received a Recording Audition with Penny Farthing Records, and also won the Evening Mail Challenge Trophy. Entry forms were available from the Slough Festival Secretary.
