Carroll Levis held "TV Star Search" shows all over Britain to find acts for his programmes on ATV. The Quarry Men took part in the 3 pm preliminary audition on Sunday 9 June 1957, but did not qualify for the finals, which were held twice-nightly at the Empire between 17 and 23 June 1957.
