One of the few times I saw The Who with a support band, which was 'The Joe Walsh band' before he went off to join The Eagles. The Who were still in full 1970 mode white boiler suit, skeleton costume and fringes (god knows what Keith Moon wore). They were trying out a new set, which included 'Water' and some other songs that didn't seem to quite summon up too much enthusiasm. among the audience. An extract of 'Tommy' was played. I was sat on row'B' right in front of John Entwhistle. Very loud but when they were into the parts of the set they had been playing for some time and had already been heard on 'Live at Leeds' they were great. No guitar smashing though.
