Wild Honey Foundation & Big Star founding member Jody Stephens present a benefit celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the seminal Big Star #1 album, in support of the Autism Healthcare Cooperative. Big Star drummer Jody Stephens and his all-star ensemble, featuring Jeff Crawford (MD), Mike Mills of R.E.M, Chris Stamey, Skylar Gudasz, Brett Harris, Django Haskins, Charles Cleaver, Pat Sansone (Wilco), Audley Freed, and special guests Susanna Hoffs, The Lemon Twigs, Chris Price, Jon Auer (Posies), and Luther Russell will perform Big Star #1 in its entirety, along with songs from Big Star Radio City, Big Star Third, and select solo cuts from Big Star founder Chris Bell.

Jody Stephens’ ensemble will be supplemented by Wild Honey Orchestra regulars: Kaitlin Wolfberg, Emily Elkin, Lyn Bertles, Eric KM Clark, (strings), Sarah Kramer & David Ralicke (horns), and former Brian Wilson percussionist Nelson Bragg. After a lengthy hiatus, Jody and his Big Star Ensemble are back in LA to celebrate the landmark Big Star #1 album and rest of the band’s stunning catalog with style and passion. This will be an emotional, unforgettable evening for a great cause.

chrisb 4th Nov 2022		Following this gig Jody Stephens has announced a run of US tour dates from 11/30 to 12/9. At these shows, he’ll perform the album in full with backing band that includes R.E.M.’s Mike Mills, Wilco’s Pat Sansone, The Posies’ Jon Auer, and Chris Stamey of The dB’s, but without the full ensemble of this charity gig. .
