Excello-2101 SUBS 23rd Mar 2015		My main memory of this show was of it being my first Yes show, my first concert with my new wife of less than a year, and the problem with festival seating. There was regular layered seating as you would expect from a coliseum, and they also had hundreds of folding chairs lined up many rows deep on the floor in front of the stage. We decided that since we could pick whichever seat we wanted, we would sit in the floor section, on folding chairs. Graphon came on but, I'm sorry to say, I don't remember much about their part of the show, except that everyone was respectful and appreciative and sat there listening to their set. There was a fairly long wait before Stravinsky's "Firebird Suite" began, softly at first and building in intensity. Then Yes started playing "Sound Chaser", and as soon as it started, everyone stood up, which means there were row after row of people in front of us on their feet. It wasn't a big problem for me, I'm a pretty tall guy, but my poor wife, who is vertically challenged, couldn't see a thing. After waiting a while and realizing that they weren't going to sit back down for the whole show, we started working our way toward the stage, trying to get to a spot where she could see. We ended up directly in front of the stage, right under Chris Squire. So close, in fact, we could see the spittle coming out of his mouth as he sang backup to Jon Anderson. But, that means we were also just in front of, and slightly below a bank of speakers. It was LOUD!! We couldn't hear right for days after the concert, but she could see, at least the Chris Squire part of the stage. Lesson learned about festival seating. John
