Somerset Country Gardener - BiographyThe first Country Gardener edition was published in 1997 by Anthony and Deborah Edwards, covering the Devon area. Since its conception, the magazine has, at various times, catered for Berkshire, Cornwall, the Cotswolds, Devon, Dorset, Hampshire, Oxfordshire, Somerset, and Wiltshire. Today, there are 5 regional versions of Country Gardener available: Cotswold, Devon, Dorset, Hampshire and Somerset. Each magazine shares a cover picture and has a selection of national "core" features, and other, regional-specific articles and advertising. As the regional variations of the magazine were introduced at different times, each edition carries a different issue number than the other regions. The magazine was taken over in April 2009 by current publisher Alan Lewis, under his company Alro Publishing. The following year two other family members, Vivienne and Kate Lewis, became directors of the company. Today, around 100,000 copies of the 5 Country Gardener editions are distributed 10 times a year, through 800 outlets. All of the magazines regional variations are made freely available to view online at their website: www.countrygardener.co.uk « Back to Bibliography Edit This Biography : Biography Credits
