 In response to nboldock, here is a clip of the advert for this magazine, also for the binders that were available to store these issues which were A3 in size. They were issued sometime in 1983 by Marshall Cavendish, who had published a lot of stuff in "partworks" either weekly or monthly. This was quite an expensive way to build up a reference series.
BACKTRACK was A3 size and the 2 issues I have ran to 80 pages betweeen them. Issue 1 came out in a glossy foldover cover giving some detail of the 52 parts to come.

Issue 1 covered October to December 1962 with news items obviously lifted from newspapers and magazines from that period, featuring articles and original adverts for all sorts of things such as films, records, record player, washing machines, etc.
Issue 1 also has an extensive feature on Merseybeat from 1962. It also included the charts for October to December 1962 that year.

Issue 2 covered January - February 1963

I did have issue 3, and probably still have it in the attic among all the other junk ( as my wife calls it !!! )

 This came out in 1983 with quite a bit of hype, but only ran for 3 issues, although it was supposed to be in 52 weekly parts, and binders were on sale to store them. Luckily, I didn't buy the binders.
