Pridesale 18th Oct 2013		And the mono-rail turned up in Boys books throughout the 1960s too as the answer to high speed travel. Other than the odd airport and adventureworld resort theme park they seem to be still few in number , not helped by the high-speed incident in Germany a few years back which killed many of the technical experts and other proponents of the technology ( the seeming inability to detect stationary objects on the track and stop the units safely seems to be lacking ).



Pridesale 18th Oct 2013		I had a book , cannot remember the publisher , entitled ' Pioneers of Petrol ' , which related to much of the cracking experiments along the lower Lea Valley , roughly around the Eastway area of Hackney. Meanwhile the branded petrol referred to here led in the 1960s and 70s to the give aways of Cutlery , Glasses , Green Shield / Pink / Blue Stamps, Tiger Tokens , Model Cars , those silver tokens with Cars , Footballers and Aircraft on. Anything else ?
