 Cover feature: Secrets of Downton Abbey: if those castle walls could talk, here's everything you need to know about PBS's hit Masterpiece series.
Also includes an interview with Downton Abbey star Elizabeth McGovern and the cover photos of the cast: Violet, the Dowager Countess; Mrs. Patmore and Daisy; Pharaoh the dog; the Earl and Countess of Grantham; Anna and John Bates; Lady Edith Crawley; and baby George with Lady Mary Crawley. The article Downton Abbey A to Z offers some program trivia. By chance, this fine issue of Parade came out just after I finished watching season 4 of the series, complete on DVD from Britain. Season 4 is just beginning to be broadcast in the U.S., but it's been broadcast, and is available on DVD in Great Britain. One needs a region-free DVD player to play non-U.S. region DVDs on most U.S.-made DVD players, so most U.S. viewers will be forced to watch each episode as it appears through the broadcast season.
