First issue , of 77 original issues from 1963 to 1969. These were reprinted from 1976, their only difference being that the stapling was closer to the centre.
Amazing. Really, amazing that these scans were uploaded over 5 years ago, and in that time no-one has pointed out that you just have a collection of 1970s reprints. I can't find a single original here, with the exception of the 'Special Repeat' (which was actually printed in 1966, not 1964). By the time the books were reprinted inside the Appreciation Society magazine, printing processes had moved on. Even if the original printing plates had been available (most had been sold, lost or destroyed) they would have been no use. The reprints used a scanning process to copy the text from the originals and initially, the original photos were used for the new books. As the series continued, laziness dictated that just scanning the photos from original books would do, and as a result the quality of the photos in later books is very poor. Every reprint in the series is different from its original, some very obviously so (details are changed or missing from some covers, or inside, a photo in book 4 is even the wrong one). And they smell different, too. Sadly, there is still no online resource for this great series. I have added a photo of a 1963 original.
Wow, scanned every page! That's dedication. I only have the reprints and then those that followed and would have uploaded scans except I think they are all in the loft at my ex-wife's and we haven't spoken for a number of years.
I have all 77 and have scanned every page, so that I can view them on my laptop, rather than thumb through, and damage the pages. I was suprised that nobody had uploaded these sooner.
