Notes cover: William L. Wrigley, Jr. (1861-1932) moved from his hometown of Philadelphia to Chicago to go into business for himself. He sold soap, baking powder, and then chewing gum, to customers. Beginning in 1919 he was instrumental in the development of Santa Catalina Island, California, off the shore of Los Angeles, Calif., and in 1925 he acquired the Chicago Cubs baseball team. Images
